2021 limited edition,50, 6"x4",signed and dated linocut by Bill Payne with acrylic additions of  Christopher (Kit) Wood 's 1926 portrait  of Constant Lambert.Kit already destined for fame but with the signs, perhaps,of the opium addiction that may have caused his death.A truly inspired artist whose works in Britanny and Cornwall in the late '20's have left their mark on British art.His friendship with Ben and Winifred Nicholson propelled his art forward and in 1928 he met, along with Ben ,Alfred Wallis the St Ives naive artist and Alfred had an great influence on both their subsequent artworks.Sadly,Kit fell under a train ,perhaps due to his opium withdrawal effects but art missed out on a great talent.Bill Payne was born in 1951 and lives in Worcestershire but has Cornish links as he was christened in Coverack in 1951
